RIP DEREK B

Died today of a heart attack aged 44 gone too soon!! here is one of his finest moments

RIP THE EQUALIZER

The 79-year-old had been suffering from various illnesses, including pneumonia.
He died at the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro this morning.
He was one of the greatest actors of his generation, without any question, with a broad career on American television as well as British film.
His agent Janet Glass told Sky News she only had "wonderful things" to say about the actor.
Originally a Shakespearean stage actor, Woodward rose to fame in the 1960s and early 1970s in the television spy series Callan.
In 1973 he played the lead role in the cult thriller The Wicker Man.
The film's director, Robin Hardy, described Woodward as "one of the greatest actors of his generation."

He added: "He was an absolute star of The Wicker Man. He was an extremely nice human being."

It was the 1980s hit US TV series The Equalizer which earned Woodward international attention and a Golden Globe award.

DJ AM SHOE AUCTION

After the unfortunate passing of DJ AM earlier this year, one of the world’s most well-known sneaker collectors will see his entire collection auctioned off for charity thanks to the efforts of eBay, Deckstar and UNDFTD. The 900-deep collection, which features some highly sought after releases, will go on the auction block starting at 4:30 pm on Sunday, November 15th through eBay. 100% of the proceeds of the sales will be donated to the DJ AM Memorial Fund, an initiative to combat addiction and generate awareness.

FIRE ISLAND

Also on boys own records released in 1992 is one of my favorite records!!!!!!

BOCCA JUNIORS

The first release on boys own records and a free gift when you buy the boys own complete fanzines book!!!

BOYS OWN

Got my copy last week!!!!!

Bill Brewster and Frank Broughton have collected every issue of the Boy's Own fanzine for their latest book.

The Boy's Own project began back in the summer of 1986, when Terry Farley, Andrew Weatherall, Steve Mayes and Cymon Eckles got together to write and construct a magazine combining all of their interests: football, fashion, narcotics and, of course, music. It soon picked up quite a following once the acid house boom hit the capital in 1988, appealing to the new strain of casual ravers.

As it outlines in the introduction to the very first issue, they were "aiming at the boy (or girl) who one day stands on the terraces, the next day stands in a sweaty club and the day after reads Brendan Behan while listening to Run DMC." This was just the beginning of the Boy's Own legacy, with plenty of parties and the rise and fall of both their Boy's Own and Junior Boy's Own labels set to come, but the book focuses strictly on the full set of fanzines that were released from '86 until 1992.

Original copies of Boy's Own fanzines had started to fetch tidy sums on eBay, but nevertheless, Brewster and Broughton went about sourcing the magazines from original acid house revellers who'd kept hold of past issues. The project is now complete, and comes with both a foreword from the two DJ historians, and an additional interview with the original Boy's Own crew. Not only that, but people who pre-order the book will also get a one-sided 7-inch single of Bocca Junior's "Raise," which was the first release on the Boy's Own record label.

HELLO KITTY

As part of hello kitty's 35th birthday celebrations some interesting projects were commissioned. These two stand out for me!!

Dr. Romanelli has gotten together with Sanrio for a special Hello Kitty collaboration, produced by Medicom Toy. The project between the three companies features three different styles of DRx/Hello Kitty figures in addition to a capsule clothing collection. The inspiration for the collection stems from the good doctor’s fascination with medical science.

The famously eccentric songbird has posed for a bizarre series of pics for cult brand Hello Kitty, designed to celebrate the famous white cat's 35th birthday. And she keeps her eyes closed throughout.
