MARC JACOBS USB HUB
Some things are just so cool you want them regardless of having any practical need for them, and these new mixtape USB hubs from Marc Jacobs most certainly fall in to that category. However, they will probably divide readers. Those of us who remember sitting in our bedrooms for hours on end, searching endlessly for the right tracks to fit on one side of a C90, making hand drawn and cut and pasted covers and hovering over the pause button will love them, but those that are too young to remember those technologically obsolete times may be a bit bemused

RYAN McELHINNEY
“Using your obsessions in order to make something unique out of it is something that unites passion with creativity in an ideal way. That’s the idea behind the work of Ryan McElhinney, an Irish designer that can’t stand still and uses his curiosity, his experience as an animator and his passion for toys and pop culture in his creations. All of them are limited editions and crafted with love, often used in his interior design commissions. This time he imagined a neo baroque 2.2 meters tall Westminster Chiming Grandfather Clock full of toys, which gives the impression of a crazy pop pile coming from out of space! It seems that there is a life after toys are retired, and Hulk or Toy Story characters look more than willing to take this second chance .The clock was a commission for a home on The Palms in Dubai and has a working Westminster Chime mechanism that chimes every 15 minutes. The internal structure is an original grandfather clock. The toys have been bonded together and then coated in a high gloss polyurethane white paint.”

TEDDY PENDERGRASS R.I.P.
Soul singer Teddy Pendergrass has died at the age of 59 following "a difficult recovery" from colon cancer surgery, his son has told the AP news agency.
Teddy Pendergrass II said his father had died at a hospital in Philadelphia.
He was paralysed from the waist down in a 1982 car accident. In 2001, he went on his first tour since the accident.
Pendergrass enjoyed early success with Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes, whose hits included If You Don't Know Me By Now, before going solo in 1976.
He was the first black male singer to record five consecutive multi-platinum albums in the US.
Pendergrass, who has used a wheelchair since his accident, made a return to live performance at the Live Aid concert in Philadelphia in July 1985.
"To all his fans who loved his music, thank you," his son said.
"He will live on through his music."
