Mike Slott

LuckyMe are very proud to present “Lucky 9teen” the new release from the innovative young producer Mike Slott.
Representing the largest collection of his solo music released to date, this ”Lucky 9teen” micro album showcases several different sides to Mike Slott from the serene atmospherics of 'The Now' to the breezy synth-pop of Gardening as well as his signature bass-heavy-slumper '40 winx'.
Over the last few years Mike has cemented his reputation at the forefront of futurist hip hop production. With a style that is hard to pin down - encompassing a myriad of influences from free jazz to 80s boogie via golden age hip hop. Tim Burton

I went to the Tim Burton exhibition at moma in New York.No cameras allowed in the actual exhibition so just the one below from the entrance to the museum!!!!!It runs till April 26th 2010 so if you are in New York you should try and catch this!!!!

Taking inspiration from popular culture, Tim Burton (American, b. 1958) has reinvented Hollywood genre filmmaking as an expression of personal vision, garnering for himself an international audience of fans and influencing a generation of young artists working in film, video, and graphics. This exhibition explores the full range of his creative work, tracing the current of his visual imagination from early childhood drawings through his mature work in film. It brings together over seven hundred examples of rarely or never-before-seen drawings, paintings, photographs, moving image works, concept art, storyboards, puppets, maquettes, costumes, and cinematic ephemera from such films as Edward Scissorhands, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Batman, Mars Attacks!, Ed Wood, and Beetlejuice, and from unrealized and little-known personal projects that reveal his talent as an artist, illustrator, photographer, and writer working in the spirit of Pop Surrealism. The gallery exhibition is accompanied by a complete retrospective of Burton’s theatrical features and shorts, as well as a lavishly illustrated publication.

Burton's films include Vincent (1982), Pee-wee's Big Adventure (1985), Beetlejuice (1988), Batman (1989), Edward Scissorhands (1990), Batman Returns (1992), The Nightmare Before Christmas (as creator and producer) (1993), Ed Wood (1994), Mars Attacks! (1996), Sleepy Hollow (1999), Big Fish (2003), Corpse Bride (2005), Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005), and Sweeney Todd (2007); writing and Web projects include The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy & Other Stories (1997) and Stainboy (2000).

Dylan's Candy Bar NYC

Owned by Ralph Lauren's daughter Dylan, makes you feel like a kid in a sweety shop!!!!!

They even have wonka bars!!!!!

Dylan Lauren, CEO & Founder of Dylan’s Candy Bar, was immersed from an early age in the worlds of design, art and fashion – she is the daughter of legendary fashion designer Ralph Lauren and artist/photographer Ricky Lauren, after all! But Dylan also had a love for candy, ever since seeing Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory at her 5th birthday party.

Dylan eventually cultivated her love of art and candy at Duke University, where she studied art history and spent her junior year abroad in London and Rome – tasting and discovering new candies, and collecting artful wrappers and packaging from her travels. Dylan set up an event planning company after graduating, but found herself always coming back to her love of candy. She was finally able to realize her childhood dream of opening a candy store – and combine it with her passion for art – in 2001, with the opening of the first Dylan’s Candy Bar.

In her effort to share her knowledge of candy and art, along with her passion for catering to the widest audience, Dylan has been a guest on Good Morning America, Oprah, Martha Stewart, The Today Show, as well as shows on Style, Food Network and E! Dylan has also been featured on numerous magazine covers including Town & Country, Hamptons, New York Resident and The New York Times’ Sunday Styles.

While Dylan has created a strong niche for herself as an expert in the candy world, she is also hailed as influential entrepreneur in New York City. Dylan has won the prestigious Fashion Group International “Rising Star Award” for Retail Design, and was named one of Crain’s 40 under 40 rising stars. Dylan’s Candy Bar has also received numerous Retailer of the Year awards, was recognized by the Association for Retail Environments Design Awards, and has been featured in Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal.

AIR JORDAN ADS

Really old now but with Spike Lee and Mike Jordan you can't really go wrong!!!!!

AIR JORDAN

Niketown New York now has a display that seems like something a Hall of Fame would house–a history of the Air Jordan line done in an extremely simple white and red colorway. The goal in choosing to have the sneaker in an all white upper is to allow the outlines and contours of each sneaker to speak for itself–uninterrupted by busy color schemes or tooling. Each sneaker is all white, apart from the red outsole and quilted lining. A few models have slight variations on the theme, like the laser etching on the Air Jordan XX (20) and the reconsidered upper of the Air Jordan XIII (23).

ALL THINGS HOUSE

He isn't an ensemble, he isn't even from Detroit, but Stuttgart native Danilo Plessow is currently one of the hottest names in this thing we call house. With a slew of releases and remixes on imprints such as 20:20 Vision, Compost and Mule Musiq and his Raw Cuts series finding their way into the record box of any DJ with an ear for great house, MCDE is an ideal guest for us.

His productions and DJing pull off the natty trick of getting a sagely nod from the heads, whilst simultaneously shaking hips and raising hands on the dance floor.

Back room bad bwoy, is Cunnie - a man about town, and a certified primo party animal, who's skills and knowledge are matched only by an uncanny knack to imbibe enough drink to floor a rhino yet still be the last man standing. Hip hop, disco, soul and funk is his business, and business is good.

Price is a killer £5 before the witching hour/£7 after and £5 for students all night long.

Drinks promos are in full effect at Cab too.
